ASHA FOR EDUCATION is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change.

ASSOCIATION FOR INDIA’S DEVELOPMENT (AID) is a voluntary non-profit organization committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development in India, by working with grassroots organizations and movements. AID supports and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as education, livelihoods, natural resources, health, women's empowerment and social justice.

ASHIMA DUGGAL was born in New Delhi India, grew up in suburban Houston but visits India frequently. Struck by the luxuries she took for granted, Ashima decided to do her small part by joining Asha for Education. She has been a member of ASHA’s Houston chapter for 2 years. She received a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and Asian Studies from University of Texas and went on to law school at Southern Methodist University. She now practices immigiration law in Houston.

PRIYA KESHAV is a Houston entrepreneur who is currently running a litigation support services company. She has been an active AID volunteer since 2001 helping with donor relations and fund drives. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the AID chapter in Austin and is also part of the AID media relations team. Priya graduated from the University of Florida at Gainesville with an MBA and is a Chartered Accountant by training.
